Eating out : Orignial Sin

Double entry today!

Original Sin is one of the more popular vegetarian restaurants in Singapore and I've been wanting to dine there for some time now. Finally got the chance to do so last week and I'm tearing my hair out wondering what took me so long to do so!

The restaurant serves Mediterranean influence dishes and you can opt to have vegan & gluten free versions of your dish. Definitely one of the few restaurants in Singapore that offer this option.

I love the decor and ambiance of the restaurant - dim lights , soft playing music, Mosaic tiles and Mediterranean styled interior.

Starters: P & I shared to Mezza Platter because we heard so many good reviews about it...that and the fact that I'm a dip fanatic.

The platter comes with pita bread, Falafal balls and a selection of heavenly dips : Hummus chick pea dip, Aromatic pumpkin and carrot, Eggplant baba ganoush and Yogurt tzatziki. The dips, especially the Hummus and Yogurt taztziki, are seriously good.

Mains:

I had the Spaghetti tossed with Pesto, done vegan style. Couldn't really taste much of the pesto but the ingredients were stellar fresh; especially the tomatoes. Word of caution, the portions are HUGE.

Dessert:
Was initially planning to head over to Da Paolo for dessert....but I'm so glad I didn't! This humble little tiramisu is so good! Not as good as Da Paolo's, but still a winner. It ha the right amount of cream, liqueur and sponge. We wiped this dish clean despite complaining how full we were after our mains.

Will definitely becoming back here soon...there are so many items on the menu that I want to try!

My first post

Hello, here's my first post :)

(Above picture: Vegan, Gluten Free Mad Fudge Cake from Delcie's )

Been wanting to start this blog for some time, and after much delays...here it is!

I've just turned 26 and have been transiting to a Vegetarian lifestyle since the start of this year; in the process, I've also been trying to live as egg & dairy free as possible. I'm loving every single minute of this new lifestyle and have never felt better and more closely connected with what I eat.

Life is pretty amazing & you're constantly learning things about yourself. I've always avoided the kitchen when I was younger because I hated washing up...but nowadays, I make countless supermarket visits a week and spend lots of time in the kitchen.

Looking forward to the fabulous late twenties =)
